ASS-U-ME

"If you assume, you make an ASS out of U and ME."
Yes, that old ditty from grade school has direct relevance from time-to-time.
The atrocious ACCF/NAM study on the fiscal implications of climate legislation seems to take this adage to a new level.
Yet Another Compromise of Personal Information
Tue Jul 31, 2007 at 03:17:44 AM PDT
This time it was a government contractor – that specializes in ....intelligence and security.
I just received another one of those "Dear former service member" letters today stating that my personally identifiable information including Name, Social Security Number, Birth Date, and/or limited health information in the form of codes might have been compromised. This is my second time in this past year (last time was in the fall - the missing VA laptop).
DID a Private Company take us to war? SAIC & poll
Thu Feb 22, 2007 at 08:12:27 AM PDT
There is a very large private corporation that does billions of dollars in government contracts every year, they are on a level only with companies like Halliburton, GE, Boeing in getting very large government contracts. The difference is this company contracts minds from the government agencies that retire from the secret places like the CIA, NSA, Army, Air Force most of their employees hold security clearances.
They get low level employees and very high level employees, many former heads of the CIA have worked there, NSA, chemical weapons experts, counter intelligence experts, all the things that should trouble people that believe in OPEN government, you can not file a Freedom of Information Act request to this private corporation like you can the FBI, or the CIA or any other government agency, they are not accountable to this nations citizens, they are under contract to our governments agencies, so what are they really doing and who are they accountable to?
