Yesterday I had the privilege of attending a closed-circuit roundtable discussion with Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) that focused on the upcoming vote (note: the legislation was approved in the House of Representatives late yesterday) on SCHIP, the State Children's Health Insurance Program.
While I am absolutely dedicated to the expansion of children's health insurance - unless and until we all have universal health care - I struggle with my conscience about the way in which we will go about it.

Missouri Wastes No Time in Pushing Anti-Abortion Envelope (w/poll)

On Monday, SCOTUS overturned a ruling by the 8th U.S. District Court of Appeals that had previously struck down a Missouri ban on highly controversial partial-birth abortions. The 5-4 majority stated that the decision did not inhibit a woman's constitutional right to seek an abortion.
So now you're thinking, "Gee I already knew that. Is this really newsworthy today?"
